BGCI's Propagation Protocol Manual

Developing propagation protocols for plants is crucial for the conservation of plant species. Published propagation protocols ensure the sharing of knowledge and avoids effort duplication.

To help with the development of propagation protocols for plant species, find below our Propagation Protocol Manual. This manual include usable forms for writing up your propagation protocols and for designing your experimental trials.

Additionally, you can refer to published examples of propagation protocols for threatened tree species to give guidance on best practice.

The Propagation Protocol Manual has been developed by BGCI to assist with the development of propagation protocols at different institutions globally. BGCI would like to thank Fondation Franklinia for their continued support to BGCI’s Tree Conservation Programme; the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation, and South African National Biodiversity Institute for their support with development and testing of these propagation protocol documents; and our botanical institutional partners from across the globe that we have worked with on tree conservation practical action projects since 2007, in which propagation has always been an important element.

Below you will find all the associate forms in digital and printable versions to help with your effective development of your own protocols.
